Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was contacted via email by a lady named Maxine Butler. She stated that she needed daycare services for her daughter while she was on a business trip in Georgia. We emailed back and forth several times. She sent me a check for $3700. I had informed her that my fee was $500. But some how there was a mix up and her company sent me a check for my fee and for her travel expenses. I told her I would just send her the check or destroy it but she said no because it would only delay her trip. She wanted me to deposit the check into my account and then wire her the money she need. Something didn’t seem right so I took the check to my bank and asked them about it.
