I received a letter stating that I had won $975,000.00 from the North American Sweepstakes Jackpot which would be paid to me in one lump sum payment. They also sent a check in the amount of $9,610.55 which is the clearance fees that have been deducted from the winnings. I will be responsible for making payment for the charges (process fees:$960.00, Activation fees: $1900.00, Legal fees: $2500.00, Insurance and delivery Fee: $3200.00, Federal Tax: 28%). I was instructed to call Randy Morrison, claim manager at Board of Commission to start processing and remitting of the prize. I immediately called the police station in my town and they told me to call the BBB. I was sure it was a scam since the business name on the check "Icon Insurance Brockers (mispelled) LTD. Any business would have noticed the wrong spelling of their name. I did not call Randy Morrison but shredded the check after calling the BBB.
