Received email saying was chosen for secret shopper program and within couple days would receive packet in mail. So be watching cause first payment would be $300 dollars. Couple days later packet came and I opened it. Very official Walmart letter. As I read it it asks for you to deposit this cashier check ( Norte dame federal credit union ) it was for $1390. $300 was my payment for survey, $90 was for shopping. So didn’t cost anything. Then they asked to take $1000 and buy two Walmart gift cards of $500 each and then scratch backs and take pictures of them and send with survey report! That right there was the red flag! I work for fortune 200 company and these people call and try this scam all the time. I’ve got to point that I actually play along with them! Really get into it and then when they ask me to read off number I start and then I say does this ever work! Or bet you are so excited right now! And they hang up! People still fall for it, get emails every so often were someone falls for it! Guess it’s a numbers game. All I did was punch in the name neighborhood research inc and it gives you all info about it! Don’t fall for this…

A friend posted a link to survey opportunities on Facebook and I completed the information. A couple of days later, I received a text message "Hello (name), you registered with us on Survey Monkey for our upcoming Walmart survey in your city. You have been selected for this week Walmart survey ($300 per survey). Survey package was schedule to deliver to your mailbox by USPS within this coming week. Acknowledge that you received the message and your readiness to start your survey. Mr. Robert Benafield (Neighborhood Research, Inc.) I did not respond. Ten days later, I received a text that said "Hello (name), how re you doing toda? . Survey payment was scheduled to deliver to you today/tomorrow by USPS courier service. IT contains a check which covers your allowance for your evaluation service worth $300 for this survey and funds for evaluations you will be conducting. Acknowledge that you receive this message and your readiness to start survey. Mr. Robert Benafield (Neighboorhood Research, Inc.) I tested back stating I was not interested. However, when I got home, the package was in my mailbox. There was a letter on WalMart letterhead explaining that I was to purchase $70 of personal items, note the cleanliness and professionalism of cashier. Then I was to purchase three gift cards in the amounts of $500, $400 and $400, scratch off the back, take a picture and text it to them. And I was to complete an evaluation. I texted that I did not know where the survey was. I was then told that the "instructions was attached with the packaged that was delivered to you. Thanks" I asked again as the letter did not say where the survey was. They responded "at WalMart and send the reports back to me on here" I asked again, so there isn’t an official form to complete. They responded "Yes We would help to do that here after you get back with your survey evaluation reports"

This letter and fraudulent check came to me through priority mail.

Seemed very legit…. I went to a smart ATM and it was rejected.

Believing I had made some mistake I went into the bank to deposit said check.

The banker instantly spotted it was fake. I am grateful for the banker, and the smart ATM that knew better than I what was going on.

I have received a text, a letter and a check to be a mystery shopper at Walmart.

They sent me a check for $1,670. After a deposit it I had to go to Walmart and purchase $70 in personal items and then ~$1,300 in gift cards. Then I had to complete a questionnaire and scratch the back of the gift cards and send pictures.

I answered an email looking for ‘secret shoppers’, something I did years ago in Detroit. However, this seemed like a scam when the company wanted to mail me money to work for them. I received a package by ‘priority mail’ which included instructions and a check for $1890. I have included the letter and a picture of the check.
