Type of a scam Debt Collections
Nationwide Collection Agency located in NY has not helped me in any way. I initially contacted them to collect back-rent from my tenant along with other fees associated with my property. I spoke to them directly on the phone and they assured me they would have no problem in collecting my money (approx $1800). They asked that I send them a $100 deposit fee which I would get back once they had collected from tenant. I sent them a check and never heard back from them after that. I emailed them several times asking for a status report, but received nothing but stalling tactics. The "red flag" was on my initial call to them, when they asked me not to contact my former tenant under any circumstances. Hindsight is 50/50 and I should have listened to my inner voice.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NATIONWIDE COLLECTION. I believe they are scammers and have told them as much.
