Type of a scam Employment
I have been looking for a job on ZipRecruiter. I received an email from this person saying that I had been selected for a job as his personal assistant. He said that he would send me a check and that I would need to deposit it right away, deduct my pay from it, and then deposit the balance in his client’s bank account. In his initial email he had indicated that he was with Building Supplies. However when I got the check, it didn’t look like it came from a company that had anything to do with Building Supplies. I did a quick Google search and it looks like it was from a student loan company. I contacted the company, and they verified it was a fraudulent check. In the meantime he had been texting me and emailing me telling me how urgent it was that I deposit the money right away and that I was jeopardizing my job by not doing so.
