Type of a scam Debt Collections
An elderly friend contacted me because she got a call from a Detective Parker saying he was with NAR Bureau and that she owed $300.00 for an Ace Check Cashing loan and if she didn’t pay it she would be arrested. Scared, she called me. I then called the number and the man answering said he was Detective Parker but would not give me any information since I was a 3rd party. A few days later, she received another call and said if she would go buy a prepaid card and pay the debt, they would settle for $100.00.
