I was offered a "free gift" (OK, so I am naïve) for filling out a survey for CVS or Rite Aid – had to pay $4.95 for shipping of a bottle of Garcinia Cambogia. It came. Then another, which I refused, and another. I called and asked them to stop sending them, that I had never ordered them. Then found out there are three charges on my credit card bill for $44.98 each. (I don’t do the credit card payments in our household so hadn’t seen it.)
They said that just returning their product to sender (which I had done) doesn’t count as a return. (!) Also, they won’t give you return envelopes like other reputable companies do. And anyway I’d have to return it within 30 days, which would be past by the time I mail it because today is day 30.
Also, one of the charges was apparently for the "free gift." (!)
First there is the come-on of the free gift for giving feedback ot a store. Then, when you go to the site to pay postage, they bury their "terms and conditions" in pages of material only accessible through a link at the foot of the page — small font, in pale-colored ink, designed to be missed. So they trick you into "agreeing" with their policy, and make it impossible to return items.
Also, their website has an American flag and says "only available in USA," but the people I spoke with on the phone were obviously from or in another country.
The 2 people who spoke with me were mindless well-trained pawns of the greedy scamming thieving cheating company who said they are not able to transfer calls to a supervisor.
