They contacted my elderly, retired, stroke ridden father about how his computer was being hacked, and needed immediate security updates. I walked in during the phone converstation and told them to stop…they said they wouldn’t until they had completed thier work… then continued to tell my father how I was breaking the law and sending porn to Europe from his computer (which I do not use). When I insisted they stop… the person in control changed my fathers password and pin for his computer…and transfered us to another technician. Who told my father that if he hung up his and my computers would be both be rendered useless. He was partially right. My fathers was. But I never gave them access to mine.
After several hours… and $400 worth of iphone gift cards… they finally told us how to fix the lockout…by spending another couple of hours resetting the computer to company specs.
