My mother was contacted by someone calling themselves Mr Cooper who told her she won a sweepstakes of $5 million, a large Mercedes SUV and monthly payments for the rest of her life. She sent them at least $500 in cash, and they told her they would bring her the money in person. They also told her they put $4,000 into a Bank of America account that she used to call her credit card to pay off. She refuses to believe this is a scam, and told me I could call them at (760) 933-4588 and ask for Mr Cooper and ask him for the password. She told him that I was concerned and that I’d be calling. I have not called because I’m worried it will patch through to an out of country number.
