I ordered boots in August of 2019 and they said it would be up to 60 days for the order to be filled. I waited and never got an update. Finally I contacted and was told my boots would be shipped that week. They were delayed. I waited for the next date given and they were delayed. Finally I visited nyc and said I would pick them up. They were promised the be finished that Thursday. (Three weeks after the initial date I was given). When I arrived they were not ready. The employee was incredibly rude. I want to warn others so they do not get scammed by this business as well.

Modern Vice is a shoe company that many are familiar with because of their prolific social media ads. In March 2019, I purchased some boots from Modern Vice as they were advertising a sell. The charge was processed, but I never received a receipt of my purchase. I emailed and asked to cancel the order as I thought it was shady, but they never responded. So I thought i would wait the 6-8 weeks to receive the boots and then return them (or keep them if I liked them). 10-11 weeks later, I had not received the boots. I called Modern Vice, and to be frank, it sounded like a sweatshop in the background (not a professional customer service individual). They passed my call around, and finally someone looked up my info, and when I asked how long it would be until I could expect the boots, they said "Uhhh….2 more weeks." Well, it’s been almost 4 weeks since that call, and I’ve received nothing. I disputed the credit card transaction today and told the company, but I am not going to warn everyone to stay far, far away from Modern Vice.

Hi,

I am writing to you to report a scam website. They act and look like a legitimate website but are in fact a scam.

I ordered shoes last December 2018 and am still waiting for my order four months later.

The website does not answer phone calls or emails.

Their website ‘legal’ section states the following refund policy:

Refund policy

We want you to love your Modern Vice Footwear. If you’ve ordered the wrong size or have any other issue, you can always exchange or return your order so long as:

1. Your items are unworn, undamaged, in re-sellable condition (i.e. no creases or wear on soles), and in their original packaging.

2. Your return request is submitted within 14 days of receiving your original order.

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these criteria.

However, the refund request email is just never answered at all. After a long time waiting, I further investigate their website and have found many other users that have been scammed by the service. I have encouraged the other people that got scammed by this service to file a complaint with you as well.

I am really hoping you could put an end to this fake business and prevent further people from being scammed.
