Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was selling a vintage Polaroid on Letgo for $45, the party initially contacted me through the Letgo chat room under the name Milla Brown and gave me an email address to further contact them ([email protected]) anyways they tell you they definitely want the product into even the pull it off the site as sold they continue to tell you that they’re busy between children and work and that they’ll be mailing me a check for $45 and an extra $50 which I thought initially they wanted me to mail it overnight or something, but what it is they told me once I received the check to go to my bank deposit the money and at that point call them they’ll be given me a tracking number given to ensure they can trust me with the money, and then I’ll be cashing for even more money than the initial $95 because whoever is coming to pick up the item is being paid for being the sender and the events explained initially when a check is cashed I’ll be putting up the money until the transaction goes through, it’s obvious there’s a lot to lose I just feel bad if someone would be taken advantage of and by the way I can tell if an organization I have the email they also were able to erase all the messages that we had previously through the Letgo site, please keep your eyes open for these types of sites such as craigslist wollipop Letgo they are out there and I’m sure some of the individuals being targeted by actually going through with this
