Type of a scam Phishing

I was sent an email indicating that my "instant payment of $2,481.93 was sent to [coworker’s name] see transaction details here" and it provided a link. Had I not known better, I would have clicked on the link since it came to my work email (which is a government email address) and included an actual coworker’s name. I Googled the company for more information, and the website appears legit. However, when I called and stated the reason of my call (thinking I was calling a legitimate company to inform them that someone was using their company name in a phishing attempt) I strongly suspect that it is not a legitimate company! I identified myself and the agency for which I work, and she immediately tried to assure me that someone must have made a typo on the email address and that it was not intended for me (she did not try to look up or rectify anything regarding an "instant payment" in the amount specified). She then said she would "check on that and get back me", but then promptly hung up without taking down any of my contact information, which she would have needed to "get back to me". I have reported this through the appropriate channels for my agency of employment, but since I could not find anything online about this company being associated with spam/phishing, I wanted to report it to BBB as well. One of the questions below this text box asks if an individual or a company was targeted. I have chosen "individual" since the email came directly to me, but since it included the name of a coworker, my thought is that the agency itself, not just me, was the intended target.
