Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was initially contacted by an anti-virus software company last year regarding selling me their software. I foolishly said yes because I was having some problems with my computer at the time. Since then, I have been contacted numerous times by the same company telling me that viruses have been detected on my computer and they need access to my computer in order to resolve the issues. At first, I would tell them I was at work and not in front of my home computer. They would always call back insisting they gain access to my computer. Most recently, they would call as the billing department reporting a purchase I did not make. When I asked for details regarding the purchase, (like the method of payment), the said they needed access to my email account.
