I canceled my Metrofax account upon the end of my trial period. Never used it. Despite a cancellation confirmation number (111366924) and an associated email from their customer support department, they keep sending billing statements.

A review of complaints against Metrofax filed with the Better Business Bureau clearly demonstrates this company’s willingness to continue charging customers credit cards despite account cancellations and/or substandard service. There are no less than 455 complaints on the BBB site regarding billing/collection and/or product/service. Based on the company’s responses, they appear to hide behind their lengthy, complicated customer service agreement to justify their abhorrent activities.

Type of a scam Business Email Compromise

I set up an account with this business intending to use it for the 30-day trial period. I received an email one day later stating that my account had not been created. I sent and received one fax through this service but did not cancel the account (because it apparently had not been created). I noticed several months later that I had been billed monthly for the fax service, so I forwarded them the email referencing the never-created account and requested a refund. I then called to follow up and was told that seven monthly invoices had been emailed to me (they never were–I conducted thorough searches of my email to confirm this), and that they would not refund me at all. I am reporting this business due to their misleading communication.
