Type of a scam Employment
I was approached about a job and interviewed for the position via google hangouts, which I thought was odd, but with the way things are now a days I didn’t think too much of it. They sent me a W-4, I-9 and had me sign a waiver for working, and sent a cashier’s check via Fed Ex the next day. I was looking for work and thought it was a bit fishy, but figured I would see how things went. The amount of the check was $3,450 and came with a poorly typed letter describing what I should do, including sending an email to steve.jonas*** to let him know what to do. After explaining to them that my bank believing that it was a scam and asking them for validity on the account, they stopped speaking to me on it, so I blocked all contact with them.
