Type of a scam Debt Collections
A person called my phone, I am the victims daughter, he called my phone asking for my mother. I handed her the phone and they said that they had a warrant out for her arrest. That she is being charged with two cases of something involving a "bounced check" my mother has taken out loans before but doesn’t remember doing it and this was apparently in 2010 so they say. They have told her that they have been sending things like mail and such to her address (her old address that she hasn’t lived in for about 4-5 years maybe.) They told her that if she doesn’t pay $1,013.00 (Not sure of the exact number but close to that price) by 5:00 pm today then she a officer will come to her home and she will be in jail for about 30 years. I have a really huge feeling this is a scam because why would they call my phone? I’ve only had it for about a year, and me and my mom don’t even share the same last name.
