Type of a scam Employment
I had applied for this job as shipping/receiving clerk. The pay was for $2150.00 a month with a $30.00 commission for every delivered item. The website seemed legit and because I applied through ZipRecruiter, I thought there would be no issues. The job is that I receive items to my home address and send them out with the prepaid labels sent to me through the website portal that is sent to me. I was supposed to receive the first check on 11/12/2018, I took into consideration of the Veterans Day holiday and give it some time. I got really concerned when I never heard a response back from the company on any of phone messages. The number always says that they are busy. When I email, again no response. I try to access the portal and it does not come up at all, I get a message saying that my username/password was incorrect, that information was sent to me by email and I preplotted on the website portal. I have a copy of the contract and job description for my own records. Normally they message me via text and email on any packages being delivered to me, that hasn’t happened in a week. Now I have 5 packages in my home that have yet to be shipped, one of which I requested a new tracking number because it could not be under the same tracking number for more than one unless it was already placed. I’m worried and concerned that this was a scam and I fear that these items may be stolen goods based on the research I’ve done.
