Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I am an artist and was contacted trough my website with request to buy art. The price I asked for my artwork was $3,200.00. Once I gave this individual who calls himself Mark Kramer my address, email and phone number. I was sent a fake check for $8,900.00. And an email request was made to pay the overdraft to his shipper. He has a story about being a marine engineer working in the Pacific ocean and moving to Canada.
The fake check was sent from DV DANIELS NJ 070 postal stamp on envelope. But return address on envelope is from Mark James 3100 Ocean Park Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90405. The fake check has same address and business name Activision Publishing, Inc.
I have stopped responding to the scammer and have just been ignoring emails.
