Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I answered an ad in the paper for a part-time job taking care of a lady. The employer’s name was Lynn Chester. Lynn told me they were moving from Canada to OKC within a few weeks. Lynn sent me a check and instructed me to deposit it. I was supposed to get the provisions and groceries; she didn’t elaborate. She told me she would send me the house keys, which I thought was strange because why would you give a perfect stranger your house keys. There were a few other texts that didn’t sound quite right. The scammer had been texting me multiple times asking if I had cashed the check yet. I took the check to the bank, and my bank told me that the check was no good. It looked like the check had been copied. It was a bogus check.
