Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

This company tried to get me to use a credit card to purchase a package vacation. Two separate trips, one was a cruise and the other was a resort stay. All for one low price of $1,199.99 before tax. They sounded foreign (not from America) but they were happy and upbeat. First was a woman who gave examples of what I had been selected for and then a man came on the line when I had questions. When I asked if I could contact them back after speaking with my husband the man told me that this was a limited time offer and that he could stay on hold while I contacted my husband. He wouldn’t give me an email or phone number to call. And he kept trying to sweeten the deal by adding things. Mind you, the tax wasn’t included and I had to secure my own flight plans but I looked into a cruise a month ago and it was going to cost my husband and I around $8,000.00 for the flight, the food, the cabin, the drink package, and excursions. To the same place this guy was offering for just over $1,000.00. But as he was sweetening the deal the price kept changing and before I hung up the price had gone up to just over $1,800.00. Also the woman initially said that I would have 18 months to use this package but the man said he would extend it to 6 years. He also said the package could be sold or transferred if we found that we could not go but that it was non refundable and that I needed to make an initial payment today of $99.99 before taxes. I hung up and tried to call them back on the number they called me on, a local number to me, and low and behold, “we are sorry but this Verizon customer is not available and does not have a mailbox set up.” These companies are using the computer to make the calls and they can make their number look like whatever they want. So a local number is something most people will answer even if they don’t recognize it. I knew it was a scam but wanted as much information as I could get. Hopefully we can get people here in America to stop falling victim to this stuff.

I received a phone call about an unbelievable all inclusive trip. After going through the resort options I told the person I was going to do some research. I then was told to “go *** * ***”. After looking at their website in more detail I feel this is a scam. They wanted $899 pp for 6 days, 5 nights and included free cruise on top of that.
