Lumenis Healthcare Name Spoofing

Jacquelyn – Oct 08, 2020

They extended a job offer with various choices to me as well, this happened today 10/7/2020. They insisted on me downloading Telegram or hangouts in order to move on to the next step of the interview/assessment and briefing. They crazily wanted to conduct an interview at 8:10pm in the night. This is what aroused my suspicions. Please be cautious of these tricks/scams. The people they use are connected to the company somewhat. I have attached screenshots so you can see the details.

Recently received a TEXT from a job “recruiter”:
Hello [name in ALL CAPS… this should be a giveaway that this is a scam!], I’m Mr. Garrett Timothy from Lumenis HealthCare Service. I’m contacting you in regards to your resume Posted which has been reviewed Online By our HR DEPT and you have been selected for an Online Interview.Reply back if you are interested in proceeding further. Thank You!

I should have noticed the odd capital letter placement in the sentence 🧐 When I said I was interested in continuing the conversation, the response was:
We are offering you a [specific job I have been looking for] job position. This is strictly an online work from home position the working hours are flexible…Interested?

Seemed legit, so I responded back in text with “Yes”. They then continued:
The Job briefing /Interview will be conducted online via “Telegram or Skype”, Do you have this on either your computer or smartphone?

I then gave them my Skype info (thank goodness I don’t use it very often. This should have been another giveaway… most companies I’ve interviewed with use Zoom). I then received this text:
The Hr Manager has sent you an invite on Skype, you are to accept and schedule a time for the Job Interview… GOOD LUCK!

Again… I should have noticed the odd capital letter placement and what recruiter ends their text in all caps? Should have been a dead giveaway… but since I’ve been looking for work for months, it seemed legit. When I asked for the HR managers name, it came back as a “Mr. Douglas Todd” (again: giveway that this is a scam! No one uses the term “Mr”)

I was contacted via Skype with a single specific screening time… not a choice of times. Very blunt communication from a supposed HR manager. Waking up to meet the meeting time of the supposed interview (I’m literally typing this at 2 AM since the interview was supposed to be at 8 AM EST), I finally thought to look at all the places I’ve submitted my resume.

I had NEVER submitted a resume for a Lumenis Healthcare Service (BTW… this company is legit, but the “s” is missing off of “Service” so that’s another giveaway on this being a SCAM… the scammers get enough of things right, but not quite right).

Just glad I didn’t end up doing the interview since I saw this right before I was going to go through with the interview and saw this scam alert… they are getting tricky during these pandemic days with those of us looking for jobs 😢

P.S. While typing this, they texted me: Good Morning you are needed online Via Skype.

They are persistent… watch out for those odd capital letter placements 😉 I’ve included a screenshot of this so you hopefully can be aware of this before you “continue the conversation.”

They claimed to be hiring several positions for Lumenis Healthcare. Asked me to do a virtual interview via the app telegram went through it all and then they offered me the job. Today they sent me an offer letter and a direct deposit form and other forms that looked legit. I filled them out which had my ssn, bank account and routing number. Told me they were going to send me a check to purchase base the equipment I needed to work like a laptop and software. Then I started looking into them and found an actual corporate recruiter for Lumenis Healthcare and he told me it was a scam because they were not hiring right now. I tried to get more information from the fake company and never got an answer. I put a freeze on my ssn and contacted my bank to protect myself and my family.
