Type of a scam Employment
Received message on LinkedIn asking if I would be interested in making really good money as a Personal Shopper. He provided a website address, Company was called LinQ Research. I had to fill out my contact info including my mailing address (to mail me my paycheck) A week later I got an email from Karen from Lin4 Research. Subject line read: Evaluation Assignment #1 and Commission. Notification that a check for $1860.15 will arrive today via USPS Priority Mail. I was to deposit the check and take $350 as my commission. Then go to Walmart and buy (3) $500 gift cards. Then scratch off label on cards to reveal the code. Take pictures, front & back then email Karen the photos along with the feedback form known as page 3. I went out to my mail box and there was the envelope from Chicago, IL with the check inside. This seemed to good to be true and it was. I googled scams and it came up on BBB.
