Type of a scam Employment

Contacted by someone in HR for an international law firm (Latham Watkins). I do not recall applying for a position with the company, but have been working with recruiters for new positions so thought maybe this is something they thought might be a good match? They were offering work from home opportunities at very high hourly wage rates ($28/hr) with very generous benefits. They wanted to do everything online (email or Google Hangout). One of the first things I mentioned was how I thought this was all a scam since they originally reached out to me via text message. The text message stated how they liked my resume/cover letter and to reach out to the email ([email protected]) for further instructions and the interview. I went through the interview process the only information I gave was my name and location. After mentioning how I thought it was a scam and (pretending to apologize), they STILL "hired" me?! Any job interview that would’ve 100% blew it. Once I got on my laptop to look at the desktop version of Latham & Watkins website, I was able to look up Wendy Ward, I called her left her a voicemail about the scam. Wendy called me back less than 2 minutes later to confirm it was a scam and that Latham & Watkins currently has 0 employees working from home. The attachment below is a copy of the original contact.
