Hello,

I am reporting what seems to be a scam. I was solicited through the website Care.com. I had placed on my profile that I did a few services and one was cleaning. I was contacted by this person named Joel Lambert through text messaging (His phone number is 234-231-5210) and he said he needed a cleaner. I kept asking where the new place was going to be located, he would never say. So I have attatched the email he sent plus the texted conversations we had.

Thanks for your quick respond.Let me quickly tell you little about me and my family !My name is Joel Lambert and my wife’s name is Gina with our first daughter Cheryl. My wife is 4 month’s pregnant now. I am a stock broker and a member of charity organization that provides for Charity (Self Employed). I’m a member of the Catholic Church. We are in the process of re-locating. We are in need of a cleaner for our newly rented apartment 3 days per week. 3-4 hours per day. ($500 per week) and we will provide all of the cleaning supplies and equipment. We moving there on 17th of MAY and here is all the job details.I believe and understand you are an intelligent person and can do with the cleaning job? So the Bedrooms Size is as follows: One of the bedrooms is approximately 11′ X 11’and the other one is 12′ x12′, but not a perfect square, so probably closer to 100 square feet; it comfortably fits a full size bed, desk, Armour and chest of drawers. The apartment is large (approximately 1,300+sf) and features the following: —Full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, etc..—Washer/Dryer —1 full bath / 1 half bath —central air and heat. The apartment occupies the entire floor of the building with direct access via the elevator. Also i would like you to know that all Tools and materials needed for the job to make it perfectly ok will be provided You will be provided with the date and time by my Landlord, as soon as I’m done making payments to you for the cleaning.

We sincerely need someone who can help us to taking care of the apartment, doing some home work while am off to work. I have a feeling you are fit for this position, but you will need to prove yourself to be a reliable, honest, and hard working person.

You will help us to clean the apartment in the morning or a day before our arrival day. My Landlord will be taking you to the Apartment immediately i contact him that i have finally paid for the cleaning service, so you will be able to clean and beautify it before we our arrival date .

I want the cleaning done before i get back to the States, I already made proper arrangements on how the payment will get to you and also the keys to the apartment, My Landlord will be showing you the Apartment so the locations shouldn’t be a problem, He will be there to help you in all you need. I will instruct my client to issue and mail out to you an overdraft payment so you can deduct the $550 for cleaning of the Apartment, then you will have the remaining funds giving to the Landlord of the apartment, So My landlord can bring down the keys to you and he would be available when you are ready for the cleaning. The remaining funds you will be sending to the Landlord is the balance payment for the Apartment cause am just moving in, I’m only doing this because I’m presently out of the states for a Seminar and which am of the Facilitator, and i want things to go smooth and perfect before my return.
