Type of a scam Identity Theft
Caller claimed to be calling on behalf of an investment company (Janus). Caller ID said "unknown name" & "unknown number". The caller asked for me by name and said they were recording the call and needed my verbal authorization for the board of the investment company to vote on my behalf on an upcoming matter. I told the caller I had no idea what he was talking about and asked that he send me something in the mail (I did not provide him with my address nor did he request it or attempt to confirm it). I believe he was trying to elicit a response of "yes," similar to phone scams I’ve heard of recently in the news.
