A consumer called BBB and stated his wife is on disability and their 3-year-old dachshund recently passed away. The dog was like a baby to her, and she wanted another one. He looked online for dachshund puppies and found a listing on Craigslist. A woman named *** in Spokane was advertising puppies for $240 each. He told her he could drive over to Spokane to give her the money and pick up the puppy, but *** said she preferred to transport the puppy to him and have him wire the money. She said she would use a company called *** *** and she asked him to wire his payment to Cancun, Mexico. In total, he wired $430 to Cancun. She continued to ask for more money for various reasons, and after sending her so much, he said no more and called us. She is now threatening to sue him (via text) for pet abandonment.
