I was contacted on LinkedIn regarding an opportunity on career builder for a secret shopper job. I filled out the application and was emailed with approval and told to wait for my first assignment. I received an email asking about what stores are in my area, and shortly after I was told that my first assignment would be arriving via USPS shortly. I received 1 check for almost $2,950, along with instructions on how to complete my first assignment. It told me to cash the checks and then go buy gift cards and report in my experience in store. Checks were fake and they are trying to gain access to the gift cards. Checks had the routing number in wrong field even though it was valid and no water mark

I was contacted via LinkedIn to sign up for store evaluations in my area. Potential to make up to $1000/week. Once I signed up, I was contacted via email a few days later to let me know I had been approved. I then received a text message telling me I would be receiving my first assignment via the USPS regular mail in the next day or so. Once I received the letter, I contacted the bank for which the check was drawn to see if it was valid, which it was not. The assignment was to purchase 2 Apple gift cards ( one for $1200 and one for $1400) from my local Apple Store and complete a paper evaluation of the store. The check was for $2985 which I was to deposit, wait for the funds to become available, then go to the store to purchase the gift cards. I was to hold them until a verified agent picked them up from me. Obviously, I didn’t do any of this so I lost no money. I reported the fraud to the bank and on the BBB website.

Got contacted on LinkedIn for a mystery shopper "brand ambassador" job. Attached is the scam material I got from an address in Texas. Be aware of the name of this guy "Richard Brooks", also his phone number 1-254-307-0221. If you read the blue sheet you will see that this is B.S.
