Type of a scam Identity Theft

They call you as a recruiter with an opportunity that sounds too good to be true. In my case it was a job that tied in really closely to what my degree was about. He asked to adjust parts of my resume to make it sound better, which a real recruiter should never do. They are supposed to ask you to make the changes yourself. Then he asked for my birth month and date, as well as the last three digits of my social security number. I gave it to him, thinking there was no harm in it. I found out after the fact that they can basically get your whole social security number from just your name, birth date, and last three digits. I also found out that recruiter is NEVER supposed to ask you for that information. I’ve taken the proper precautions for now and will update if anything is taken or opened in my name.
