Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
I listed a brand new desktop computer for sale on Craigslist 9/14 for $200.
Alice Smith approached me to buy and willing to pay me $230 for holding this desktop for her and she had moved away from Toledo so she will send a mover agent to pick up along with other items she had purchased around me.
Check arrived yesterday with Priority 3 day mail service with tracking number she provided to me.
But check amount is $1980. She asked me to cash the check so she can arrange the shipper agent to come pick up the computer and I deduct $230 and pay the shipper agent for $1750.
I called the Hottmann Construction Co. and knew she used this company for cover up. They are impostering Hottmann’s name. I also called Lake Trust bank in Lansing MI and had confirmed this check is fake.
Need to report this so other people don’t fall for this kind of scam.
