I was attempting to get an EIN for my newly formed LLC. I googled "registering for EIN for LLC" and it was the first website that popped up with "IRS" in the title. The website looks shockingly similar to the IRS website. The website asks for social security number, date of birth, and finally payment information. I thought that was odd, but I recently learned buying an LLC was a bit pricey, so I went through with it. I quickly realized that you don’t have to pay for an EIN, so I immediately called the company. The company gave no response and no name. This is not a real company.
