High sales pressure based on lies, exceptionally long sales presentation, sales people claimed to be an owner of the timeshare and said that this was an investment. Sales team did not tell us similar timeshares could be purchased at a very low cost on the secondary market, we weren’t informed of the cooling period after signing where we could cancel the contract within several days of purchase without penalty, they encouraged us to open up a new line of credit to finance the purchase, we were rushed through the document signing process, we weren’t told that the annual maintenance fees would rise in cost, and alcohol served during the presentation. We found out the hard way that the contract does not hold their sales people responsible for any promises they make. They will promise you everything to get a sale and not be able to deliver against it with zero consequences because your contract is with El Cid and not their sales representatives.
