I had responded to an ad on CRAIGLIST in Toledo and then we email …they she told me that it would only cost me 550.00,so i sent that and they got more email from HORIZON PET SHIPPERS for 1200 for shots for the Malteses puppies.Then Horizon pet shippers started texting me and tells me some b******* so i told them how i feel about there business and it wasn’t nice
I found this lady on Craigslist in Houston after searching and sending out interest to several different breeders and sites she responded that she had two to rehome due to her son passing away. I answered all the question which seemed to be legit she told me I just had to pay the transportation fee which I did of $450 then the “shipping company” said they needed $800 for the two and the kennel well while being a bit leary I was trying really hard to get my 12yo daughter and puppy that she has been asking for to help her with depression I paid the $800.. then a few hours later they asked me for $1200 and that when I definitely knew my thought were correct especially when they couldn’t even spell shots. Craig’s List was offering a 10-week dapple dachshund puppy. Supposed to be from CA but after I messaged the admin of this post, she said she’s from Texas. The reason why she posted her puppy on craigslist was that she has cancer and needed to re-home her puppy due to the fact that she is going on operation soon. Nobody will be home to take care of her. I accepted the offer because I was looking for a puppy to adopt and it works out both ways. For her and myself, but little did I not know was a scam.
She goes by Maria Angeles but when I received the confirmation from the pet shipping agency, it was under Noma Joevena. The puppy was FREE but I had to pay for the delievery fees. Which i was fine with, she said the estimate would be $340 by Horizon pet shippers. We wrote emails back and forth about it. This morning, received an email that she went to an agency, got her paper works done.
Few hours later, I received a call from this scheme agency, he spoke limited amount of english, sounds very middle eastern like. He said “to check my spam email”. I did received an email from Horizon Pet Agency on my spam inbox and it gave me a warning about this email by saying “This message seems dangerous, similar messages were used to steal people’s personal information. Avoid clicking links, downloading attachments, or replying with personal information”. So, I told him, I’m working and i can’t call right now. After hanging up the phone, I did my research to know that it was scam. I kindly emailed Maria or Noma that I am declining this offer unless she changes the delivery agency. I recommend few others and yet I have not received any emails back since. Luckily, I didn’t pay any fees!
Please be careful. SCAMMERS EVERYWHERE ESPECIALLY DURING COVID. People got nothing better to do. I attached the pictures.
Same story above with this Angelica, for 2 Maltese that I saw in Craigslist in Baltimore. Beautiful pics. Almost didn’t buy the story but unfortunately still got suckered. Sent 550 $ thru zelle. Spoke with a Dr Brian from Horizon pet shippers. Then an hour later got another email , the call asking for 850$ more for an electronic thermal crate for the dogs while the dog is being held in Kentucky airport .This time I refused to comply. Told him that I will report them and then he hang up!

I found a puppy on Craigslist that I wanted to adopt but the person lived in Texas and I lived in New Jersey so she offered to have him shipped to me but I had to pay the company. They accepted practically any payment method, I paid using a gift card. Once they received the payment the told me I would receive the dog that same day around 9pm but the dog never came. I have tried contacting them time and time again and get no response

Craig’s List offered Maltese puppy supposed to be somewhere near Denver CO. Email reply from Angelica says they have just moved to Dallas to non-pet apartment and she and her husband are giving away either of two absolutely adorable puppies to a loving person. Since I am now so far away, "Angelica" offered to arrange delivery of puppy to me in Colorado for only $450 by horizonpetshippers.com. My scam radar was triggered by this and also their poor use of English. I have lots of emails back and forth with "her" but once I said I could come to Dallas to pick up the puppy, there was no reply. I also discovered a post online by someone else who was caught up in the same scam by "Angelica" but it was for two Pomeranians. In the emails sent to this man who posted the scam, everything that was said about these pups was identical right down to their temperaments for these two pups of a totally different breed. This confirmed my suspicions 100%. I think that had I gone with the pet delivery scheme that the payment would have been made to what I’m guessing is an associated fake pet shipper. They never got the chance to ask for the money as they knew I was on to them.
