My story is very similar(see below). I did not send any money. Avoid this Kloompy site for cars.

Hi, this is Megan! Thanks for contacting and glad to see you’re interested. It’s in great condition as you can see, has no issues mechanically, electrically or any other to be noted. No accidents, no rust or leaks, straight body. It was my husband’s baby “Life is too short to drive a boring vehicle” he always said, but he passed away earlier this year and being in a difficult situation I’m forced to sell it. Also, I recently moved to my late parents’ house in Iowa cause I had a thyroidectomy and need rest managing the recovery. Considering the circumstances, I made arrangements with a shipping company to help me with payment and delivery as I’m unable to. It’s already in their possession all prepped & ready for delivery which is free. Price is $12,100 no other fees involved.

For more details please reply with your name, phone, zip & address so I can provide it to the shipping guys and they will contact you, so you’ll be able to talk to them directly. They will also provide the legal contract between me and them to show authenticity & delivery are guaranteed.

I look forward to your reply soon and I sincerely appreciate in advance your patience!

Thanks and God bless you!

The very same story of deceit in my case (6/29/20). “Anna Parker’s” husband died and she was in Olive Branch, Mississippi, with her daughter after throat surgery. I wanted to fly to Mississippi to see the car. They refused for the same reason: the car was at the shipping company, packed and ready for delivery, and they also said that because of the coronavirus it would be impossible for me to see the car before deciding on buying it or not — a beautiful 1972 Chevrolet Caprice . But if, after a five-day trial period, I did not like the car, my money would be returned, and the shipping company would pay to have the car shipped back to them I simply replied, “I am a legitimate buyer. You — whoever you are — are not a legitimate seller.” Actually, they are legitimate … as scammers!

Scam- $ 13,500.00. Reported to the FBI and they have a very good cyber security. These people will be arrested very soon. I just heard back today ( Jan.10,2020) they have very reliable leads traced through website and cyber security. Also, what [censored] would give a bank-wire account and expect not to be tracked by the bank as well. Guess I’m a bigger [censored] for sending money.

Sent message through "kloompy" to seller of 1956 Mercedes 190SL. "Katelyn Foster" responded by e mail. Advised husband died selling his vehicle. Also said she was staying in Greensburg, Indiana with daughter because she had recent surgery. Said vehicle was with HIN Transport who would handle the transaction including shipping. Learned the alleged transport company who had possession of vehicle was in Merrillville, Indiana. Asked to schedule inspection of vehicle – Advised it was "sealed" and ready for delivery. They wanted wire transfer which supposedly would be held in escrow until buyer received vehicle and approved the release.

HIN Transport had an active website that provided tracking info based on the tracking number.

Similar experience for me, but luckily no money was exchanged. I saw a vehicle on kloompy.com and inquired on it. The emailed response was from Beatrice Cooper in Burnsville MN. Same sad story (husband died, he loved the vehicle, vehicle is already packaged for shipment). They asked for some personal info (phone number, etc) and said the shipping company would contact me. It goes to show that when the price is good (like under everyone else) – BE SUSPICIOUS! Your mom was right that when it feels too good to be true, it’s probably too good to be true. Thanks to the others for sharing your story. There is a special place for people that prey on others like this.

there is a woman Beatrice Cooper who says she is in Burnsville MN. trying to sell a 32 Ford 3 window coupe and the supposed Transport company is in Savage MN. Same story same advised “sealed ready for delivery . Refused beforehand inspection .Money to be handled exactly as you have stated. This was a add posted on Kloomy and ironically the cost of the coupe is $23,000 which includes transportation

This company claims to be a third-party company that works will sellers of autos, to sell cars and transport to buyers. They asked me "buyer" for $25,000 in advance for a 1994 Porsche 911 RS, as the sellers "husband just passed away and wanted to just sell it quickly". Then when we asked if we could fly out to see the car- they said "no, the car is already wrapped up in a cargo box that can’t be shown". Then I asked for their certificate of insurance (to make sure they were insured when the car was transported from Indiana to CA) and they said "what is a COA / Certificate of insurance"- proving again to me they were fake. This is 100% a fraud. Do NOT send them money in advance. I knew they were fake from the first call to them, but I did my research and was correct.
