This morning, I received a call from 615-243-4525, and an Indian man asked to speak with my 88-year-old mother. He said he was from Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and asked how my mother was feeling. That was the first red flag. He continued, "Since she has been having so much back pain, we want to send her a back brace, free of charge. Please can you confirm her address?"
My mother doesn’t have back pain.
When I asked for his Highmark employee ID, he hung up.
I called Highmark to report it.
