There is a man by the name of Steve Bonton who is using a Planters Bank account to scam money from individuals. He states that he offers assistance with paying bills through his employer, HERITAGE FINANCIAL GROUP, INC or HERITAGE BANK OF THE SOUTH. He provides account information to submit to creditors for payment, then requests $500 be sent to him in cash via Moneygram as opposed to the organization as stated previously. The account number he uses is from Planters Bank and is as follows: routing – 084205708, account – 4801000875, and the address is 271 Hwy 82 East, Indianola, MS 38751, phone number 662-303-5475. I want to ensure that no one else falls prey to this man. In the end, no bills are paid and he is not representing Heritage Bank. Luckily, I delayed long enough to find out before losing money. Although, I am posed with several NSF fees for my accounts. I have transcripts of all correspondence.
