Type of a scam Debt Collections
I received a voicemail stating that they were collecting a debt. Gave me a number to call. First phone call I asked for the name of the company I owed money to, Greenwood Lending from 2012. I knew it wasn’t real and asked for more information and was hung up on. Looked up greenwood lending which does exist, but the website doesn’t work and non of the phone numbers I tried worked. I called back, was even apologized to for being hung up on. Told the person on the phone the information I found and was told they could only put that in the file. I then asked for any type of account number or reference number and was hung up on again. My worry is they had my social security number, or at least knew the last four numbers, and what bank I use.
