I responded to a Craigslist Ad for the purchase of a Truck, 2011 International 7600 and Trailer and received an E-Mail from a Rosie Harris, the owner of the vehicle, who gave a sad story of her husband passing from a heart attack and her and her daughter were "starting over", had sold her house and were living with her parents in Wichita, KS. She forwarded photos of the vehicle. I received a second E-Mail from Rosie July 13, 2018 and she explained she was using Green Shippers Escrow Account and for me to reach out to them. I did and got their Invoice, Shipping information and Wiring Instructions. I wired the money but have not received our Truck and Trailer.

We saw an ad on Craigslist. The ad stated that a 2015 Bass Tracker was for sale. The asking price was too good to be true. $5,900.00. We called around and were told it would be worth $22,000.00. First clue. We inquired further and found out the boat wasn’t in Chicago but in Wichita, KS. Clue #2 Inquiring and greedy minds want more info. Now she says the reason for the switch a roo is that her husband died and she and her daughter moved to KS to be closer to family and the boat is at Green Shippers (paper ready to be shipped). Shipping is to be on the seller. Clue#3 After all this we find out that a bank wire transfer for the full amount needs to be done before shipping begins. Clue#4 Saving the best for last, after checking with the ScamPulse.com we find the is just like a number of other scams. Clue#5. We are greedy but not gullible anymore.

Dear,

Thanks for your e-mail about my 2015 Bass Tracker. It has 150 hours and no mechanical problems. The boat is in excellent and immaculate condition. No hidden damage or defects. As you can see from the photos, it was very well taken care of. I have a clear title for it, legally under my name, with no liens or loans on it. The sale price is $5900. This belonged to my husband who died a month ago due to a heart attack.I cherish his memory but I can’t use it on my own, since the tragedy. My daughter and I sold the house and moved with my parents in Wichita, KS for a new start.

Waiting for your reply if you are interested. Hope you like the photos I have attached!

I received the following email after I was approached about interest in a rv sale….

Email:

My name is Angela and I’m the owner of the 2007 Fleetwood Tioga 26Q. It has no damage, no scratches, dents or hidden defects. Everything works perfect, has only 32,405 miles, its automatic, with an 6.8L V10 engine. Title is clear, without liens or loans on it, under my name. The motorhome belonged to my father who recently passed away. I have no use of it and it’s been in the garage for the past month, so I only want $8,000 for it. Right now I’ve return to my base in Wichita, KS, because in two weeks we leave for duty. Due to the training I can’t leave the base to meet you and close the deal so I’ve decided to use a shipping company and left the motorhome in their possession here in Kansas. The best part about this is that you’ll get 5 days for inspection for free with no further obligation or fees to decide. The funds will be placed on hold into their secure account, so you can physically see the motorhome before I will receive any money.

To receive the details from them I only need your name, your phone number and a shipping address. If you have any questions, please reply to this email.

Conclusion:

After ScamPulse.com research, I learned that someone had been scammed by the same. I almost sent the money but was cautioned in my spirit when I noticed the persistent email from the Angela person about the money being wired.

Of course I didn’t go through with it but I almost did, once I kept pushing to make the purchase in person I was told the deal could not be made in that fashion but only through the Green shippers company.

This is a complete hoax and scam and these crooks need to be stopped.

I responded to an ad on Craigslist for a 2013 Hino truck purchase. I received a story from an individual (private seller) concerning the posted ad. She responded with an email stating her husband died and she wants to sell the truck through a trusted source, Green Shippers freight and escrow company. In order to purchase it, I must send a bank wire in the escrow company name. They will ship the truck in 5 business days after payment. If I like it, they will remit the title. Green shippers sent an email stating the 5 day rule. If we do not like it, the shipper will pay to transport the truck back. I have several emails and bank acct to wire my funds to. I am thankful for the person who posted the scam posting which helped me not to have my lender send the check to the alleged private seller via Green Shippers Escrow agent.

There is a post on Craigslist about a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia for sale for $7,000. When you answer the post and say you are interested in purchasing such truck a Sydney Evans contacts you via email and gives you a story line about why she is selling such truck cheap. So she proceeds to explain that her husband died a month ago of a heart attack so it brings her bad memories. She goes on to explain that her daughter and her moved from NJ to Wichita,KS with her parents and are trying to start a new life so that’s why she is trying to sell the truck. So she proceeds to explain that such truck is in a storage named GREEN SHIPPERS and that they will handle everything for the shipping of the truck that all I need to do is send my info so they can contact me and know where to deliver the truck. So they do contact me via email and want me to wire them $7,000 dollars to a bank so they can proceed with the delivery. So I looked up this so called Green Shippers in Wichita,KS and can’t find them but I did find a Car Shippers and contact them to see if they are the same and try to get some some info about such company. So they tell me that they are not in any way associated with this Green Shippers and that they are a scam that I am not the first one to call trying to find out about this so called Green Shippers and to be careful because they are a scam and their web site (car Shippers) it has a post of a lady who was also getting scammed the same way I was trying to and says she was trying to purchase a 2017 Honda and she goes to explain how and what they were trying to do. So she explains that she was told the same story line that I was given about a dead husband a month ago blah blah blah same story line and it turned out to be a scam So I email this Sydney Evans and explain what happened. She emails me back with this link to Green Shippers but didnt address my concern about what that lady was saying that they tried to scam her. So I explain that I will not be wiring any money or will be doing any transaction unless and until I see this truck in person and have title in hand. So I didn’t hear back from this Sydney but low and behold I get a email from OneMain Financial declining my application for a loan. Thing is I haven’t applied for any loan so I am thinking that the info they wanted from me for this so called delivery might of been used to try and get loan under my name. I did give them my phone, email and address. All this happened in just 2 days so that is where I am at this point. I am worried that they tried to get a loan under name and don’t know how to proceed in making sure they use my name for anything. I do have emails of conversation with this so called Sydney Evans

i went to craigslist and found a 1995 jaguar xjs for sale. i contacted Tania Jefferson and she said the car was her husband’s, who had died of a heart attack recently and she wanted to get rid of the car as it was too painful to keep. i know people in the automotive business and just the week before a woman came into the dealership with the exact same story and sold the dealership a car at a greatly reduced price.

That being the case i took a chance and wired to money to Green Shippers and TD Bank, 68 Elizabeth St., Pemberton, NJ 08068. Account holder’s name Sherry Newman. Once the wired cleared, all communication stopped and the phone numbers and emails were no longer active.

I believe this to be a total scam and wish I had checked with ScamPulse.com first. It now appears I will be out the wired funds.

I responded to an posting on Craigslist (Columbus, OH) a couple of days ago that seemed "too good to be true."

I texted the number on the ad and the response said that she was helping to sell this vehicle for her aunt and that I should email her aunt for more information.

The response that I got from "Cathy" was that she is in the Army National Guard and recently recently relocated to Wichita, KS for active duty and was getting ready to ship out for 3 years. Her father recently passed away and this was his car. Because she’s leaving the country, she left the car in the care of Green Shippers and that I was to wire the money into an escrow account and the car would be shipped to me to inspect for 5 days. Once I made my final decision, then they would release the money to the seller.

After much research, I found out that there is no Green Shippers company in Wichita, KS. The only way to get to the bogus site is with the direct link she provided.

I also found another ScamPulse.com scam complaint posted only 9 days ago with a story so similar that it just HAS to be the same scammers.

PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THESE BOZOS!

Here is some of the communication between me and the seller:

Good morning _______ ,

I’m Cathy, the owner of the 2012 Infiniti FX35 – AWD Limited Edition. It has no damage, no scratches, dents or hidden defects. Everything works perfect, has only 25,600 miles, its automatic, with an 3.5 V6 engine. Title is clear, without liens or loans on it, under my name. The vehicle belonged to my father who recently passed away. I have no use of it and it’s been in the garage for the past month, so I only want $5,700 for it.

Right now I’ve return to my base in Wichita KS, because in two weeks we leave for duty. Due to the training I can’t leave the base to meet you and close the deal so I’ve decided to use a shipping company and left the vehicle in their possession here in Kansas. The best part about this is that you’ll get 5 days for inspection for free with no further obligation or fees to decide. The funds will be placed on hold into their secure account, so you can physically see the vehicle before I will receive any money.

To receive the details from them I only need your name, your phone number and a shipping address.

Hi again,

Right now I’m located in US Army National Guard, Wichita KS, like I said in my previous email. I left the car here in Green Shippers possession stored with all the paperwork. My presence isn’t necessary because the shipping company acts as the middle man.

The shipping is already paid because the loan of my previous buyer didn’t get approved, so the total price you have to pay is only $5700.

So first you need to make the payment to Green Shippers , the funds will be placed on hold into their account. Then the shipping will start and the car will arrive at your location in max 3-4 days. Then you will have 5 days testing period. If you will decide to keep the car you should call the shipping company to confirm them and they will release the funds to me. If not, you can ship it back, i will pay for the returning fees and you will get your money back in 12hrs. I hope you understand how it works.

So if you wanna purchase my car just get back to me with your full name, full shipping address and phone # and they will send you the invoice. There you will find all the steps you need to follow in order to make the payment.

Thanks

P.S. You can visit them at: https://green-shippers.com

First question already answered in my first message, that’s means i don’t need the car anymore since i will be out of country for the next 3 years.

Second question, my niece posted it on many states to help me selling it fast.

Hi Cathy,

I spoke with Green Shippers AND with the local Nissan dealer to arrange for an inspection of the vehicle and I discovered to things:

1. The vehicle VIN is coming back with incorrect mileage.

2. Although the tracking # comes up on the website, Green Shippers has no record of you or the vehicle.

Please tell me what’s going on??? I really want to do business with you?

Thanks,

David

I saw a boat I loved on Craigslist that was listed as $6000. At first that was a red flag for us because you could sale this particular boat for way more then this! I reached out to this person via text and they replied that the boat was still in fact available, I asked if they had more pictures and they asked me for my email to send them to me, she emailed me and this was her reply:

Hello There,

Thank you for contacting me about my 2012 Rinker. It has 208 hours and no mechanical problems. The boat is in excellent and immaculate condition. No hidden damage or defects. I have a clear title under my name, free of any liens or loans ( for both boat and trailer ). The price is firm, $6,000, including the trailer. I am selling it because my husband died a month ago (he suffered a heart attack) and it brings me bad memories, so I want to sell it as soon as possible. My daughter and I decided to sell the house and we moved with my parents in Wichita, KS trying to start a new life. Let me know if you are interested in buying it or if you have any questions.

P.S. Attached you can find more pictures!

Thank you for your interest!

She sent pictures and the boat was beautiful, it was too good to be true, I emailed her back with a couple more questions on how the transaction would work since was living away, this was her reply:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So our current situation is that my daughter and I decided to go for a fresh start, so we sold the house and moved to my parents in Wichita Kansas. We are trying to start a new life. The boat is here in Wichita Kansas , stored with all the paperwork at the shipping company (Green Shippers) and ready to be delivered to its new owner. I want to use their escrow and transport services as they offer 100% protection and insurance to both buyers and sellers. The best part about this is that you have five days to try it out before making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don’t like about it, you can send it back at my expense. If you are interested in knowing more info about how it works, you can reply with your whole name, address and phone # so I can notify Green Shippers that you are my selected buyer, and they will contact you right away with all the details, with no obligation to buy it.

Regards

It’s totally a scam! I googled green shippers and noticed another person had almost an identical thing happen except it was with a bike they were trying to buy, you can read her complaint here:

I responded to a Craigslist ad and initially received these emails (1-3) from the potential seller. When I attempted to speak with seller directly she would not provide a phone number. I then received an email from Green-Shippers with an order number. I called Green-Shippers, the so-called shipping company to inquire about items that were to be including in the sale. I company representative I spoke with was "Mark". He said that he would have to contact the seller and confirm with the warehouse that all the items were there. He called back a short time later and said yes it was all there. The next step needed was for me to wire transfer money into their escrow account and the vehicle would be shipped to my address. I was seriously concerned about using a wire transfer and asked if I could drive to their business, see/inspect the vehicle, provide payment at that time, and drive the vehicle home. I was told that I could not because the vehicle was stored in a way that I could not see it. It was "packaged" for shipment and they could get it out. I also called a licensed and reputable shipping company in Wichita who stated they have never heard of this company. I contacted the local office of the BBB in Wichita and they confirmed that they are not aware of this company and have had several recent complaints/concerns regarding Green-Shippers. I believe this to be a scam and recommend you throughly vet out this company before completing any sales with them.

Hi,

Hope my e-mail finds you great. I wanted to ask if you got the invoice from the Green Shippers. The bike is in at the shipping company, ready to be delivered to your address. The title, bill of sale and all the paperwork are already signed by me and included. As you know, the shipping is free. You will try it out for five days, and if at the end you are happy with it, you can give them the "thumbs up" to release the money to me. Or if not, you can send it back and get a refund, without paying for the shipping. They also have their number on the invoice, so for any additional questions, feel free to ring them.

Let me know if there is something else that I can do from my end.
