Type of a scam Government Agency Imposter
At first it was a recording saying my social security had been messed with and there was a freeze on it. (I know that one of the people close to me is on the most wanted list and she has my SSN, so I thought it might be legit.) It told me to hit one. I hit one. It said my social had been used to rent a car, at different banks, etc. . I don’t even have a driver’s license. I don’t know what to do. After I hit one, a man came on. He gave me a warrant number, his number, and another number. He told me the FBI and the police were investigating and I might want to turn myself in. He told me that my social security number and my name had been ran through so many different bank accounts. There was a car with blood in it that was found in Texas and that car was rented out in my name. The girls who have my social (my sister and this other girl who is strung out on drugs). He said his name is Jack Wilson. He gave me a CP10173A. He said it was an arrest warrant. He gave me the number 4571 and said it had something to do with the arrest warrant. He said that "can I get the last four of your social to make sure it’s really you". I gave my first and last name and my last four digits of my social. He then gave me another number that he said was his badge number SSA6298. Then the call got cut off. I live in Springfield, MO.
