Type of a scam Employment

Receive an email for interview after I placed my resume on my states employment website. Was contact for an interview for a stay at home job. Before the interview I was sent a copy of the job description. After I was selected for the position I was supposed to have two weeks training, the first week instructional and the second week was supposed to be on the company provided equipment. After the first day of training they sent by USPS a cashiers check for $2300. The trainer wanted me to deposit the check and wire $2200 to a vendor for the equipment instead of the company sending the equipment to me. The cashiers check had a good routing number but the issuing bank (Sun Trust) could/would not verify whether this was a good check. The fraud department said I would have to submit it to my bank and let them run it through the process. My bank gave me access to the funds the next day but I told my trainer that they hadn’t because my bank said it would take 7-10 for the check to clear both banks. Needless to say I have not heard from the trainer again and the check was no good.
