Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a letter in the mail regarding a work assignment. The letter said, "Congratulations! Here is your first week official assignment. Read carefully below and complete task as soon as possible. 1) You are to send a text message to 727-493-7170 using the term assignment received. 2) Go to your bank and have the check deposited and email a copy of deposit slip after the deposit has been made. 3) Once the funds are available, deduct your commission of $250 and $55 to cover Western Union transfer charges. 4) You would be evaluating Western union Money Transfer Services at any Western Union shop/outlet closest to you. Proceed to a Western Union store or Walmart Store close to you. Make a transfer of $825 to TWO different shoppers. I contacted FSI Extrusion, 5076 NC Hwy 127, Taylorsville, NC, 28681 and they said something about a year ago someone started using checks with their name on it.
