Type of a scam Employment
The person who set up the scam created a fake Indeed site under our old name FRCH Design Worldwide for a graphic design position. They collected resumes for about a month and then contacted candidates using names of our employees who do in fact work for us. They then ask the candidates to interview on Google Hangouts using different addresses including [email protected] and [email protected] The interviews are all by text. People are told this is for a home office and are told they have a position and sent an offer letter from someone who does work for our firm. In the offer they are told they about a list of equipment that will be delivered and they will send them a check to get a home office set up. They are sent a check and told to deposit. And then told to take money out and send a check to their banking account. They are also asked along the way that HR needs their drivers license, sometimes social security cards and even a copy of a check for banking info. InDeed was contacted and took the site down. We filed a report with IC3 but candidates need to put a freeze bank on bank accounts even if they did not cash checks and should also contact the police.
