My husband saw a puppy on a website. I sent an inquiry. I then received a contract and, thereafter, went to Western Union and sent $400.00 cash to someone who said their name was Ethan Alfie. I then sent him the receipt to retrieve the money. We communicated by email, text and telephone so I thought it was legitimate, especially after I reviewed the contract. He said he resides at 15 June’s Way in Springfield, MA. Needless to say, our grandchildren were elated and couldn’t wait to meet the dog. Arrangements were made to pick the dog up on the 22nd of June. Then, I started receiving texts that he needed more money for insurance and the balance for the dog. I advised that I would pay the balance for the dog and the insurance when I picked the dog up. He said he wanted now and I should go send. That’s when I got suspicious and realized we were scammed.
