Type of a scam Phishing
I received a phone call from an unregistered number and did not answer letting it go to voice mail. The people did not leave a voicemail.
My mother in law soon called saying she had a call from someone saying.
"She was from Delivery Services looking for you. , I said I’d give you the message.
She wants you to call 1-844-307-1815, about some "paperwork delivery" Reference # 15-326-073.
I called the number and they did not pronounce my name correctly and asked me if the last 4 to my ssn was …. The number was wrong and I did not correct them.
I said what is this in reference to and what was their name. He mumbled the name a few times and then I said please speak it clearly so that I can actually understand the name.
He then said, Fidelity. I said Fidelity what and he said someone was suing me in a civil case. I said what is your website and what is your name. He said FIDELITY LITIGATION AND MEDIATION. He would not give me a website to check and as we spoke I could not find one on the internet.
He said it was concerning an account I had with Z NET from 2003 – 2007 when I lived in Elk Horn, Ind. I have never had an account with that company or lived in Elk Horn. I did not say this to him but told him to remove my from his list and I would be reporting him and hung up.
He called back from a second number from Los Angeles 213-291-1383. We had a few more words but I never confirmed or denied anything that he said. I told him I felt this was a phishing expedition and to never both me again and hung up on them.
He wanted to do business with me for legal services to help me with my civil suit but I refused to continue the conversation.
