His wife recommended him, Timothy Lee Gude, on the NextDoor App to do fence construction and hillside renovation and garden. He gave me an estimate of $***, with half to be paid at the end. After almost a year at my property, he did half the work and I’ve paid $*** with $***. He begged me for the money upfront due to his own financial issues. He even tried to sell me houses in Oregon (none of which were under his name). Then he disappeared for months at a time and stopped making contact.
After posting this on the NextDoor App in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA where I live, may others came forward with similar stories.
Note: his business is listed as in Eugene, Oregon, where he might spend part of his time and where his wife is from. Very sketchy. Hard to track down. Appears to NOT have a contractor’s license. The checks are made to CalResco, which he does not appear to own.
