Federal student loans

Phone call received August 21, 2019, at 5:22 p.m. Caller identified self as "Sharon Duncan" from a federal student loan program. Claimed she was calling about my "student loan payments," as some rules/repayment options have changed. Even gave a "Reference Number," as if to refer to a specific file. The object of the call seemed to be to scare a person into calling the number. I would assume they would then try to obtain additional personal info from the victim, for identity theft, etc.

Since I have no outstanding student loans, having paid them off decades ago, this has to be a scam!

These scammers called my daughter about my student loan debt ( her mother). They call from different phone numbers that appear from different states. For example when I asked where the offices were, the scammer said "what do you mean, umm California." But his number appeared as New Jersey.

These scammers are offering Federal Student Loan Forgiveness. Here is a list of numbers:18002690271,1828-8654159 NC, 1828-865-4176 NC,18188653161 NC, 503-4343161, 2016369920 NJ, 202-930-9930 Washington DC, 937-617-2102 OH, 315-5191367 NY.

They have made over 20 calls to my daughter.

They have been harassing my daughter, trying to get information on me. When I called them back twice, they hung up.

I recieved a phone call from this phone number saying that I should call back with a reference number of 02025 to a Barbara Anderson about my student loan payments. I instead called the normal student loan number I usually call and they stated they had not tried to reach me. I then googled this and found that people were being called by the same people using the same reference numbers.

I got a call that said it had no caller ID, I declined the call and it went to voicemail. A woman left a voicemail for me and that’s how I got the number. The lady stated " This is Barbara Anderson and I’m calling in reference to your student loans. I am needing to discuss your repayment options, with the new changes that are taking effect. Please give me a call at 866-277-0042, reference number 02025 thank you." I Googled the number to see what this was, because I knew if it were from a valid company the voicemail would not have been 281-204-2528. I did recently finish Graduate school, however I’m not in the repayment stages yet, and when I googled the other number given in the voicemail I found a similar number was for a business called Nelnet. I’ve never received any loans from this. SPAM caller, please make other individuals aware so they don’t call and make payments to this person.

202-991-2091 just called my cell phone. The spiel went as follows "This is Barbara Anderson calling about your federal student loan and the new rules on paying it back. Please call me back at 866-802-2270 with your reference number 02025".

I looked it up on line. Several reports of the same message
