Type of a scam Charity
The scammer contacted me through Facebook Messenger, pretending to be a family friend. They gave me the phone contact for an agent at the Federal Government IFC and told me to text them if I wanted to apply for the grant. They claimed that they received $100,000 cash from the agency and I could too. I was highly skeptical, so I searched the scam before proceeding. Knowing that it was indeed a scam, I text the number to see what they would do. They replied with information about their fake agency and requested personal information along with a picture of my driver’s license. That is where my experience ended. Beware!
