Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a telephone call from a person claiming to be Amanda Rose (1-305-921-0233) this week. She informed me that I had won (tax free) $525,000.00 and gave me a ticket number. She also asked if I would be home between 12:00 & 2:00 P.M. the next day. She stated that I also needed another number and I should call James Anderson (1-702-979-1753) to receive it. She talked about a 1% fee and when I asked her to explain, she said that Mr. Anderson would have to inform me about the fee.
My husband called James Anderson and was informed that the fee to receive the winnings was $5,250.00 and that my husband should go to the bank and withdraw the money. My husband then asked why they could not take the fee out of my winnings and was told that they could not do that. My husband then asked who we should send the money to and was told to send it to 5250 Leonad Beniot, Eudora, KS. My husband was also told that if he was asked to inform the person asking about the money to say that he was a friend of the person in Kansas and that was why he was sending the money.
Needless to say, we did not send the money or receive a prize. Please report this as a scam & hopefully others will not fall for it either.
