We received an email from Costco asking that we complete an online survey. After the survey, we were directed to select a free gift from a list of items. We selected a women’s watch and agreed to pay $7 shipping. Nowhere on the site was it obvious that we were joining a monthly subscription service to receive a cheap watch every month. Last night we received notice of a $98 charge, no other watch was received, and were told by the company that they could give us a 25% refund on the account and cancel the subscription. We objected and were told that we could get a 35% refund. We were also told that the $98 was charged for the "free" watch and that in order for the watch to have been "free", as it was advertised, we needed to cancel the subscription within 14 days. We never saw this and would never have agreed to this.
After long conversations with Fashion Finder, our subscription was cancelled and our $98 was refunded. The original watch will be returned. This company engages in fraudulent practices and the survey was an ABSOLUTE SCAM. We were lucky that things worked out or at least appear to have been worked out but only time will tell.
