Type of a scam Employment
After applying to some jobs in NYC via Craigslist, I was contacted by a woman Kathleen Norman from "Evaluate Market" for an office assistant job, which turned out to be a "remote position" in which their "company" is located in Wisconsin. Although this "company" has a website, it is clearly not real and after searching on maps for the address, this company clearly does not exist. They also claim to offer "tuition reimbursement" and other benefits such as insurance. Although I did not accept this position or interview, after a few email exchanges I decided to investigate (as I would with any potential employer) and found that this scam has been going on with different "employers" and slightly different changes to the company name such as "Evalutech." This scam seeks to find employees that will send out packages on behalf of the employer and will be paid each month, although several "employees" have said they received and mailed packages and then never heard from the company again and were never paid. I hope to make others aware of this scam and of similar ones! Be safe in the job seeking world!
