Type of a scam Employment
I posted an ad on Craigslist for housekeeping/errand running and received a text message from a person who identified themselves via text message as "Thomas Perez" and did not give more information at first.
"Thomas" then sent a message after I asked for more information. He told me "I help people sell and rent their house so right now, you will only be responsible for posting the Adverts (advertisements) on CRAIGSLIST so it would get across to people in the location the houses are located, i would be paying you $300 weekly"
I then asked if he was a realtor, to which "Thomas" responded:
"I am ?an estate agent with ERA REAL ESTATE. You get to post at most two Ads daily with details of houses for rent… This is it: I email you the details of the houses for rent with their pictures, you post them on Craigslist daily with your Craigslist account so people that want to rent houses can read them and send mails directly to the house owner"
I believe he is neither a legitimate real estate agent (ERA Archibald Real Estate is located in Rigby, ID) nor truly going to pay for the work- I think "Thomas" is scamming potential employees into posting false rental/housing advertisements on Craigslist- targeting the Boise, ID area at this time. As a renter, I have seen fake advertisements for house listings that are not for sale OR being rented/sold through different agents.
"Thomas" would not answer the phone when I called, and there was no legitimate answering message for voicemail. He texted right after saying "Sorry i missed your call. I’m busy working so text would be preferred."
